  • Flexible publication plans that can reduce costs and increase your book's profitability.

Our Publications & People

We established Eagle Cap Press in 2018 with the publication of The Wild Landscape: The Zumwalt Prairie for the Josephy Center or Arts and Culture in Joseph, Oregon. The book provided a catalogue of the 2018 Wild Landscape exhibit, and included essays, poetry, and fiction, as well as photographs paintings, collages and other art that were all part of the exhibit. Together, they told the story of The Zumwalt Prairie's storied landscapes.

Our next book, True Tails, was published for the Wallowa County Humane Society. It recounted heart-felt stories of  adopted animals, including a goose, a goldfish, and a mouse (plus dogs, cats, and horses) and the people who love them.

Stories of Wallowa Lake is our third book. It will soon be followed by The Sky Beyond the Mountains--about Wallowa County's pioneering Findley family, published for the Wallowa History Center, and Mountains and Canyons: The Geology of the Wallowas, Hells Canyon, and Northeast Oregon.

In addition, our publisher, Ellen Morris Bishop, is an award-winning author, photographer, and journalist who knows the Northwest. Our editor, John Gaterude, has years of experience at major publishing houses. Our staff is committed to producing high quality and indispensable works.

We are looking for more books to publish, and would love to talk wiht you about  finished or unfinished manuscripts, and your ideas for books, photo books, art books, or other publications. Our goal is not to enrich ourselves, but to enrich the knowledge of and appreciation for this part of the world.

At Eagle Cap Press, we believe that every one of our authors and artists has a story to tell, information to share, and tales about the Northwest that deserve to be told.
