H.R. Findley

(Better photo of  H.R. Findley coming soon!)

H.R. Findley is the author of The Sky Beyond the Mountains. The book was edited by John Gaterude and will be published in the late Fall of 2022. H.R. Findley, the son of Wallowa County pioneer Alexander B. Findley, penned the story of the pioneer family's lives in 1940 as a weekly serial in the Joseph Herald. The book contains many insights into Nez Perce-white relations, the hardships faced by early settlers, and the unremitting incursion of settlers on Nez Perce lands. H.R. Findley passed away in 1960, but his book brings life to a distant past.
